Background:

Opened in 1887, Fairfields is the oldest school in Basingstoke. It is situated in an urban area near Basingstoke town centre. It teaches the full National Curriculum and a range of strategies are used, such as small group work, individual taks and whole class teaching. 'This school aims to meet the needs of all pupils no matter their ability.' The parent-teacher organisation, the Fairfields Association, raises funds for the school.
