Background:

Droxford School is situated in the picturesque Meon Valley village of Droxford. The school is well situated at the foot of the downs with recreation grounds, meadows, woodland and the River Meon within easy reach of the site. The school was first established in 1835 by the National Society for the education of the poor. The present school buildings date from 1929 and have been progressively remodelled and improved with recent extension and internal modernisation. The LEA has funded extensive refurbishment and external modernisation. The school has three classes, reception office, headteacher's office, staffroom, library and special needs teaching area located in the main building. Two further classes are accommodated in temporary buildings. The school has secured funding to replace two temporary classrooms with permanent buildings. The school grounds provide ample space for play, sport and other outdoor activities. There is a playground area that has been marked out for learning and recreation. There are two small adventure play sites, which were funded by the parents association. Droxford is a friendly, caring, family community, committed to achieving a first rate education for each of its pupils.
