St Anthony's opened in 1991 to serve the Catholic community in a rapidly-expanding area of South Hampshire between Portsmouth and Southampton. The school building is semi-open-plan in design and is set in beautiful grounds; well-equipped computer room opened in 2002. French, tennis, min-tennis, netball and football are among the after-school clubs on offer. The school maintains close links with the local parish of St Margaret Mary in which it is situated, and with the community. It also supports a number of charities and the children with their parents are 'always very generous'. The school aims to 'educate children in a safe, caring and happy environment'. DfES achievement award (2001, 2002). The school hopes to provide a caring environment for children where there will be ample evidence of Christian values at work. It hopes to provide a wide range of balanced learning opportunities for all children, to help them grow into independent and responsible people.
