Background:
Hurstbourne Tarrant Church of England Primary has recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. The original brick and flint building was constructed in 1848 on land donated by a local landowner. There are now additions to the original building and an extra temporary classroom. Over the years the school has seen great variation in the numbers attending the school, from 29 to more than 150. The school boasts a strong tradition of music to complement the rest of the curriculum. Children are offered the chance to take part in musicals so that they can grow in confidence. The Parent-Teacher Association carries out much of the fund-raising to allow school improvements. The school'strives to 'understand every child's needs' to ensure all of the children fulfill their potential.
