Background:
The school is larger than most junior schools. The curriculum is delivered in a variety of different ways, the teachers using various teaching styles and groupings of children. The school is equipped with modern computers. Children are taught to use and have access to the full range of ICT required for Key Stage 2. In PE its aim to provide a healthy life style, the children developing their skills in a variety of physical activities such as athletics, games, educational gymnastics and swimming. There are opportunities for children to represent the school in netball, football, hockey, trampolining and athletics. In addition to a comprehensive variety of instrumental tuition it also has a school choir, recorder groups and children are given the opportunity to perform in an annual school production. It has a number of sports clubs, which usually football, gymnastics, hockey etc. Northern Parade Junior School is a caring school.
