Background:

On 25-acre site on western edge of Liphook, overlooking open countryside. Playing fields accommodate several pitches, a running track, and a cricket square. More than half the pupils learn a musical instrument; school has two orchestras, various string and wind ensembles, two jazz bands, a choir and several rock bands. Specialist language college status; teaching of French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese. Has recently established range of vocational courses; early GCSE entry in languages and ICT; also AS courses as option at Key Stage 4. After-school care introduced from 2007. Over-subscribed, with 1.1 applications per place. Artsmark (2004); Artsmark Gold; Sportsmark; Investor in People status; DfES achievement award.
