Background:

Woolston School is a popular school providing high quality education and support for all its students. The school is sited in Woolston between Portsmouth Road and Porchester Road where they are linked by Station Road. In addition to classrooms, accommodation includes assembly hall, gymnasium and fitness studio, library, six science laboratories, five ICT rooms, additional ICT facilities, a computerised graphics room, a textiles workshop, three design and technology workshops, food technology room, two art and craft rooms, music room and practice rooms, drama studio, learning support rooms and a dining hall. The school uses grass pitches at Mayfield Park. There are a variety of extra-curricular clubs and school teams. Sports facilities include gym, school hall, fitness suite, Local Authority playing fields and tennis courts. The school also makes good use of sports facilities across the city, including the Southampton water activities centre, the sports centre in Bassett and Bitterne swimming pool. Woolston School has been a specialist Language College since September 2003. The school aims to extend all student's range of knowledge and skills within a stimulating, well organised and disciplined environment.
