Background:
Tanners Brook Junior School was opened in 1954 and is maintained by Southampton City Council. It shares a large, open site with Tanners Brook Infant School and Regents Park Pre-School use its community centre, which is situated at the back of the school. The school has recently been completely refurbished with new windows throughout, carpeting and new furniture. Each of the 12 classrooms has a variety of technology available to assist in the learning of the children. These are some of the activities which it has made available to children either after school or in the lunch hour:- gardening club, ICT, mixed football, textiles, field games, cross-stitch, choir and origami. The aim of the school is to develop a welcoming, community ethos where children, parents and staff enjoy school and support one another to achieve the best for one another.
