Noadswood opened in 1959 and is set in 15 acres of playing fields on the edge of the New Forest. It offers five computer rooms, eight laboratories, a sports hall and gym, music suite, drama studio and six technology rooms. All pupils follow a broad, balanced curriculum leading to at least 10 GCSEs - the school average is 11. It has links with a local gymnastics club, with which it shares the use of a specialist gym. A full range of activities is offered, with netball a 'particular strength'. The school's ethos is 'traditional but not old fashioned'. It holds a DfEE excellence award, a School Curriculum Award and an Education Extra award for its range of extra-curricular activities. It is over-subscribed, receiving 1.25 applications for each place.
