Background:

Built in 1966, the school is set in 16 acres of Newforest land where pupils enjoy a six-acre nature reserve including a pond. There are 18 class bases and an 'attractive' hall used for assembly, physical education and dining, in addition to a home economics area and a library which is used as a children's resource area with fiction/non fiction books, charts, teletext, a CD Rom multi-media and two internet personal computers. There is also a shared teaching area to which each year group cluster of classes has access, and a 'well-equipped' music room complete with lights and staging, which is also used for drama. A 'wide range' of sporting and academic subjects is available both during and after school. The British Council awarded Foxhill with the International School Award in 1999 for its associations with Europe and international schools. The children regularly hold a charity week for up to 20 charities and events are organised by pupils to ensure they 'become caring independent thoughtful children'.
