Background:
The school was originally built in 1901 as a secondary school and became a junior school in 1964. It is situated in a well-established residential area with the children coming from owner/occupier homes in the Bitterne Park area. Each class spends at least one session each week in the ICT suite being actively taught the skills required to make the most effective use of technology as a tool for learning in all areas of the curriculum. There are clubs that offer sporting opportunities such as football (for both boys and girls), cross-country and dance performing arts. The school aims to provide a caring and stimulating learning environment that embodies teaching of the highest quality.
