Background:
Built in 1965, Wyvern is situated in Fair Oak, a large village close to Southampton and Eastleigh. Most pupils are drawn from Bishopstoke and Fair Oak, which have a range of former council houses, owner-occupied homes and new modern estates. The school is determined to achieve excellence. The school values extra-curricular activities, which it sees as extremely important to the future development of pupils, and expects them to achieve high standards in music, drama and sport. Students have reached national levels in sport and the drama department has produced a video, which has been shown on European network television. The college aims to provide teaching and learning opportunities, which enable young people to have a broad and balanced curriculum in a stimulating and happy atmosphere.
