Background:
Warblington School was opened as a county secondary in 1956 and is now a comprehensive, co-educational, 11'16 secondary school. The school is surrounded by grounds totalling over seven hectares. These include hard playing areas, landscaped gardens and extensive playing fields. The school's buildings have been extensively refurbished and remodelled. There are six science laboratories and six rooms for the teaching of mathematics, English, modern foreign languages and the humanities subjects, history, geography and religious education have been grouped around the library and the learning support centre in the three-storey area of the main building. The school provides a full and balanced curriculum for all students in accordance with the requirements of the national curriculum. Its teams/clubs operate in a number of activities including football, netball, athletics, trampolining, hockey, basketball, tennis, cricket, rounders and rugby. The school is a happy, caring and stimulating community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
