Background:

Occupies site of about eight acres; consists of small mid-19th century village school building, incorporating a schoolkeeper's house; five new classrooms, technology practical area, resource area, special needs room, multi-purpose hall with store as well as an office for the headteacher, general office, staffroom and cloakrooms. The school has continued to grow in popularity as well as in size and has now reached its maximum capacity. Over-subscribed, with 1.8 applications per place. 'The school aims to motivate and enable individual pupils to maximise their academic and personal potential and to be active and sympathetic members of their local community.' Numerous after-school clubs, including computer, chess, football, rugby, netball, cricket, rounders, art, drama, recorders, cookery, running, tennis and French.
