Background:
Romsey Junior School was formed in 1958 from the old Romsey Church of England Boys' School, which was housed in the building now occupied by Romsey Infant School. The school moved to its present building in 1974. The building is a purpose-built school set in the delightful grounds that cover approximately six acres and include an extensive nature trail and a conservation area. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include netball, rounders, football, athletics, cricket, recorders, guitars, Spanish, pottery, gymnastics, cricket, computers and taekwondo. The school aims to provide a stimulating and motivating environment whereby children have equal opportunities, enjoy learning, make excellent progress and develop the skills for lifelong learning.
