Background:

Situated half a mile from the centre of Milford village, within easy reach of Lymington, New Milton, the sea and the New Forest, the school serves the village communities of Milford, Everton and Keyhaven. Since its foundtion in 1851, it has been tastefully extended on a number of occasions and now provides 11 classrooms, a music room, two library areas and a craft area/children's kitchen. A local pre-school also uses the site which is set in extensive grounds with an environmental area, weather station, play equipment and trim trail. 'High standards' are achieved across the curriculum and all classes have access to the internet and a computer network. Pupils take part in PE and games and the many extra curricular opportunities include boys and girls football, cricket, tennis and swimming. The school also has a 'strong commitment' to music and offers a choir and an orchestra. All Year 2 children learn recorder and more than one third play an instrument at Key Stage 2. The school provides a 'very warm, welcoming, caring atmosphere where good relationships and close links with the local community enhance the quality of the education'.
