Background:
Founded in 1872 as a board school, Liss Junior moved to a new building of 'very distinctive and original design' in 1994. It is proud of its 'strong' musical tradition and offers two choirs, a training band and a school band. The school has 'good' computer resources including a local area network and currently has a computer to pupil ratio of 1:14. All pupils have email accounts and internet access. The school has a 'very successful' extra-curricular programme and currently offers 13 after-school clubs. Liss Junior recently gained both an Education Extra and Healthy Schools award. The school enjoys links with the community. Childen regularly visit local nursing homes and perform at the local Christmas shopping event, church and scout fetes and entertain local OAPs. A recent link has been establshed with Liss Horticultural Society.
