Background:
Lyndhurst was built in 1918. 'Considerable' progress has been made since the school became grant-maintained to improve the interior and exterior of the school. There have been 'very successful' sporting achievements in soccer, athletics and cross country running and the good sporting ethos is supported by a 'wide range' of extra-curricular activites. There are 'very well run' pre- and post-school care clubs and also a provision for holiday activities. The school has 'strong' links with the community and local charities.
